Alex Rodriguez spoke with Yankees manager Joe Girardi on Monday night and told him that he "felt great". According to Girardi, Alex said he had a spring in his step. Alex, 33, has been recovering from hip surgery on March 9, and is officially scheduled to return on May 15, although some reports suggest he may return as early as May 8. Girardi cautions however that Alex playing in Minor League games is"still a little bit of time away".

Good news! I hope he gets better really quickly, and does return on May 9. I would love to see him play again!
