About Alex...
Alex Rodriguez was born on July 27, 1975, in New York City. Aged four, Alex moved to the Dominican Republic, with his mother Lourdes, father Victor, and brother and sister, Joe and Suzy. The family stayed in the Dominican Republic for four years, before moving back to America, and settling in Miami. Not long after, Alex's father moved back to New York, and mother Lourdes worked two jobs in order to support Alex, Joe, who is six years older than Alex, and Suzy, who is four years older.
Alex attended Christopher Columbus High School, and Westminister. Alex was signed by the Seattle Mariners in 1993, when he was just 18 years old. He later moved to the Texas Rangers in 2000, before being traded to the New York Yankees in 2004.
Alex married Cynthia Scurtis (born December 28, 1972) on November 2, 2002. On November 18, 2004, they had their first daughter, Natasha Alexander, and younger daughter Ella Alexander was born on April 21, 2008. Alex and Cynthia officially divorced on January 12, 2009, but remain amicable.
At the end of 2008, Alex had hit 553 career homeruns.
